* This Friday, March 11th, 2016, we will be feeding the Sound Monster. Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "d" sound on Wednesday. The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day. If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word. Some ideas for the "d" sound include: doll, drum and dinosaur.Number of the Week:

100th day of school:
We will celebrate the 100 th day of kindergarten on Wednesday, March 9th, 2016. I have planned several fun activities for the week.BEFORE Wednesday, March 9th, 2016:
1- Please send in your child's 100 collection Please send it to school in a ziplock bag or Tupperware container . Some examples of collections include:
- 100 marbles
- 100 stickers
- 100 cotton balls
- 100 pennies
- 100 candies
Be creative! The children will then play a guessing game to try and guess each other's collections.
2- Please send in your child's 100th day t-shirt with 100 of something (foam hearts, feathers, pom poms, etc) for your child to wear that day. The deadline to send in your child's t-shirt will be the day preceding our 100th day: Tuesday, March 8th, 2016. There are many different t-shirt ideas online. I invite you to take a look.
MYSTERY BAG (SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY):
* This week: Memphis and Mary Lou will present their Mystery bags on Friday, March 11th, 2016.
OVERNIGHT BUDDY:
We will continue our overnight buddy activity this week. Each night a different child in the class will take home our class buddy Olivia the Owl and complete a page in her journal adventure book. Please return the overnight buddy and journal book in the ziploc bag it was sent home in the next day.
THEME TABLE:
Our new theme will be Dr. Seuss. I invite the children to bring in books, toys or objects related to our theme that we can place on our theme table in the class. Please be sure to write your child' s name on the item or book so that I can easily return it to you. Thank you in advance!
REMINDER:
The blue and purple duo-tangs will be sent home every Monday and must be returned the following Monday. Throughout the week, please review the sound of the week and have your child complete the corresponding pages in the purple duo-tang. Please have your child practice singing the weekly songs/poems and complete the activity at the bottom of the page (if there is one) in the blue duo-tang. Please refer to the introduction letter for a more detailed explanation of this on the 2nd page in the blue and purple duo-tangs.
