Important Information:

* Please note that there is NO new family project for the month of March.  Since the children made their 100th day t-shirt, that will count as our family project for this month.

* I have posted new pictures of the children in the Photos tab.  All of the photos under the February and March heading are NEW.

READING MONTH:

The month of March is READING MONTH here at Good Shepherd school.  Our school wide theme is the rainforest and we will be doing lots of fun reading activities throughout the month. This Friday we will welcome a guest reader from Riverside School Board to read to our Kindergarten class.  Last week a rainforest questionnaire was sent home.  This is for a contest for reading month.  Please note that it is not mandatory to complete it; those that do will be entered into the draw to win a prize at the end of the month.

SCHOLASTICS:

I am sending home the flyers for the month of March this week.  Please note that the deadline to submit your order is Wednesday, March 30th, 2016.

MYSTERY BAG (SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY):

 * This week: Sophie and Rosalia will present their Mystery bags on Friday,  March 18th, 2016.

OVERNIGHT BUDDY:

We will continue our overnight buddy activity this week. Each night a different child in the class will take home our class buddy Olivia the Owl and complete a page in her journal adventure book. Please return the overnight buddy and journal book in the ziploc bag it was sent home in the next day.

THEME TABLE:

Our new theme is related to St-Patrick's Day.  I invite the children to bring in books, toys or objects related to our theme that we can place on our theme table in the class. Please be sure to write your child' s name on the item or book so that I can easily return it to you. Thank you in advance!

REMINDER:

The blue and purple duo-tangs will be sent home every Monday and must be returned the following Monday.  Throughout the week, please review the sound of the week and have your child complete the corresponding pages in the purple duo-tang.  Please have your child practice singing the weekly songs/poems and complete the activity at the bottom of the page (if there is one) in the blue duo-tang. Please refer to the introduction letter for a more detailed explanation of this on the 2nd page in the blue and purple duo-tangs.
