* Last Wednesday, only 2 children brought in items to feed the Sound Monster. So we will be feeding the Sound Monster the "w" sound on Friday, February 12th, 2016. Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "w" sound on Friday. The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day. If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word. Some ideas for the "w" sound include: water, wallet and watch.Number of the Week:

PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS FOR TERM 2:
This week I will be sending the papers for parent-teacher interviews for the parents I need to meet with. Please note that you can always request an interview with me to discuss your child even if I have not requested one with you.
SCHOLASTICS:
I am sending home the flyers for the month of February this week. Please note that the deadline to submit your order is Tuesday, February 23rd, 2016.
VALENTINE'S DAY CARDS AND TREATS:
Some parents have inquired about sending in Valentine's Day cards and treats for the class. Please note that you can send in Valentine's Day cards or treats for the children in the class, but there is NO OBLIGATION to send in anything. I ask that if do, please send in a card/treat for all of the children in the class so that no one feels left out. Thank you for your cooperation :) Here is a list of the children in the class.

MYSTERY BAG (SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY):
* This week: Ejah and Elias will present their Mystery bags on Friday, February 12th, 2016.
OVERNIGHT BUDDY:
We will continue our overnight buddy activity this week. Each night a different child in the class will take home our class buddy Olivia the Owl and complete a page in her journal adventure book. Please return the overnight buddy and journal book in the ziploc bag it was sent home in the next day.
THEME TABLE:
We are continuing our friendship and Valentine's Day theme. I invite the children to bring in books, toys or objects related to our theme that we can place on our theme table in the class. Please be sure to write your child' s name on the item or book so that I can easily return it to you. Thank you in advance!
REMINDER:
The blue and purple duo-tangs will be sent home every Monday and must be returned the following Monday. Throughout the week, please review the sound of the week and have your child complete the corresponding pages in the purple duo-tang. Please have your child practice singing the weekly songs/poems and complete the activity at the bottom of the page (if there is one) in the blue duo-tang. Please refer to the introduction letter for a more detailed explanation of this on the 2nd page in the blue and purple duo-tangs.
