Sound of the week:

Sound Monster:

* This Thursday, May 30th, 2019, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "sh" sound on Thursday. The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word. Some ideas for the "sh" sound include: shirt, shark, shorts and shell.

Important Information:

* I have posted the new family project for the months of May AND June combined

I have decided that the FARM family project will be for both the months of May and June.  The deadline will be changed to Monday, June 10th, 2019. 

SCHOLASTICS:

I am sending home the flyers for JUNE this week. Please note that the deadline to submit your order is Thursday, June 6th, 2019.

LIBRARY:

The school library is now closed for the year. If you have any library books at home, please send them in as soon as possible. Thank you!


THEME TABLE:

We are continuing our  farm theme this week. I invite the children to bring in books, toys or objects related to our theme that we can place on our theme table in the class. Please be sure to write your child' s name on the item or book so that I can easily return it to you. Thank you in advance!

MYSTERY BAG (SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY):

 * This week: Leia, Vivan and Arissa will present their Mystery bags on Thursday, May 30th, 2019.

OVERNIGHT BUDDY:

Our two class buddies will continue to circulate.  Each night a different child in the class will take home our class buddy Freddie the Frog and complete a page in his journal adventure book. Please return the overnight buddy and journal book in the ziploc bag it was sent home in the next day.  We will continue to send home Olivia the Owl as well.

Thank you to those who have already returned the RSVP slip for this workshop.  If you have not already done so and are able to attend, please return the confirmation slip (even though the deadline has passed, we are still accepting parents as the session is not full yet). Lots of free materials will be given to those who attend :) Last year, this workshop was a tremendous success. 

(Due to a death in my family, and the funeral taking place that day, unfortunately I will not be present at the workshop.)

Sound Monster:

*  This Friday, May 10th, 2019, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "qu" sound on Wednesday.  The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word.   It may be difficult to find objects with the "qu" sound, so any  object with an "x" in it will be fine. Some ideas for the "qu" sound include: quarter, quail, queen , and quilt.
