* This Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "ch" sound on Wednesday. The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word. Some ideas for the "ch" sound include: chair, chocolate, chick and chicken.

BOOK SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY:

REMINDER: Book Show and Tell Presentations will take place this week.  I will send a reminder in your child' s communication folder the day before your child's presentation.  Last Monday, I sent home the paper to complete along with the date of your child' presentations.

SCHOLASTICS:

I am sending home the flyers for the month of May this week. Please note that the deadline to submit your order is Friday, May 11th, 2018.

MYSTERY BAG (SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY):

 * This week: Kaeyan, Isha and Adrian will present their Mystery bags on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2018.

OVERNIGHT BUDDY:

Our two class buddies will continue to circulate.  Each night a different child in the class will take home our class buddy Freddie the Frog and complete a page in his journal adventure book. Please return the overnight buddy and journal book in the ziploc bag it was sent home in the next day.  We will continue to send home Olivia the Owl as well.

* This Friday, April 20th, 2018, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "x" sound on Friday.   The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word.  It may be difficult to find objects with the "x" sound, so any  object with an "x" in it will be fine. Some ideas for the "x" sound include: xylophone, x-ray and box.

LITERACY AND NUMERACY WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS OF KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS:

On Monday, I am sending home a paper copy for the literacy and numeracy workshop that was sent home last week electronically by Ms. Terry. Please RSVP as soon as possible. Lots of free materials will be given to those who attend :) Last year, this workshop was a tremendous success. I will be present at the workshop again this year.

BOOK SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY:

As part of Reading Month, I would like the children to do a special Book Show and Tell Activity. On Monday, I will send home a letter explaining this activity in detail (in your child's communication folder). Your child will need to select his/her favourite book from home to present to the class.

April is READING MONTH at Good Shepherd School.  The PPO (Parent Participation Organization) has generously purchased a book for each child in the school! We will be receiving the books this week. A big thank you to our school's PPO!

This week we are beginning  a new exciting project in Kindergarten!

We are going to explore the world of robotics with our BEEBOTS.  The beebots are simple robots (shaped like bees) that can be programmed to do several simple tasks.  Be on the lookout for some new pictures soon and please ask your children about it!
