Sound of the week:
ISound Monster:
* This Friday, December 1st, 2017, we will be feeding the Sound Monster. Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "I" sound on Wednesday. The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day. If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word. Some ideas for the "I" sound include: insect, igloo, inchworm and iguana.
Last week, I send home an important paper in a ziploc bag pertaining to the report cards. Please sign the back of it and return it to school ( if you have not done so already).
Due to the assembly, we were not able to visit the library this week.
The blue duo-tang will be sent home every Monday and must be returned the following Monday. You will keep the purple duo-tang at home. Throughout the week, please review the sound of the week and have your child complete the corresponding pages in the purple duo-tang. Please have your child practice singing the weekly songs/poems and complete the activity at the bottom of the page (if there is one) in the blue duo-tang. Please refer to the introduction letter for a more detailed explanation of this on the 2nd page of both duo-tangs.
Please continue to have your child practice writing his/her first name EVERY DAY. If you feel your child is ready, you can have him/her begin writing his/her first and last name and then writing his/her phone number.

Number of the Week:
# 8 (continued)
Important Information:
TERM 1: 3R'S ASSEMBLY
This morning, we had a whole school assembly where we discussed the 3R's: respect, responsibility and ready to work/learn. Three students from each class received certificates. Before the assembly, I discussed this with the class and explained how difficult it was for me to select only three students to win certificates. I reminded them not to get discouraged (if they did not win a certificate) and to keep working hard and maybe next time it would be his/her turn. I hope there were no tears or broken hearts this evening.
SCHOLASTICS:
I am sending home the flyers for the month of December this week. Please note that the deadline to submit your order is Wednesday, December 6th, 2017. If your order if a surprise, I can send it home in a sealed envelope.
THEME TABLE:
We are continuing to learn about bears this week. I invite the children to bring in books, toys or objects related to our theme that we can place on our theme table in the class. Please be sure to write your child' s name on the item or book so that I can easily return it to you. Thank you in advance!
