LSound Monster:
This Friday, November 3rd, 2017, we will be feeding the Sound Monster. Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "L" sound on Wednesday. The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day. If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word. Some ideas for the "L" sound include: leaf, letter, lollipop and Lego.Number of the Week:

COLD WEATHER:Fall has finally arrived! With the colder weather, please be sure to send your child to school with a jacket, hat, scarf/neck warmer, and gloves/mitts. It might be a good idea to begin sending your child to school with boots as well since the children are outside for at least 20 minutes at recess and at least 30 minutes at lunch time. Thank you :)
SCHOLASTICS:
I am sending home the flyers for the month of November this week. Please note that the deadline to submit your order is Wednesday, November 15th, 2017.
LIBRARY:
Please return your child's library book by TUESDAY in the ZIPLOC BAG. Thank you!
HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION:
On Tuesday, October 31st, 2017, we will celebrate Halloween in my class. We will do some special Halloween activities. I encourage you to send your child to school with a costume if you'd like. Here are some important points to remember for this day:
- no violent or scary costumes
- no masks
- no weapons (even plastic)
- treats for the class: if you would like to send in treats for the class please be sure to send one for all of the children so no child feels left out. There are 16 children in the class. Please note there is NO OBLIGATION to send in candy or a treat. Also please note we have a student with a PEANUT ALLERGY in the class.
REMINDERS:
The blue duo-tang will be sent home every Monday and must be returned the following Monday. You will keep the purple duo-tang at home. Throughout the week, please review the sound of the week and have your child complete the corresponding pages in the purple duo-tang. Please have your child practice singing the weekly songs/poems and complete the activity at the bottom of the page (if there is one) in the blue duo-tang. Please refer to the introduction letter for a more detailed explanation of this on the 2nd page of both duo-tangs.
Please continue to have your child practice writing his/her name EVERY DAY.
