* This Friday, January 15th, 2016, we will be feeding the Sound Monster. Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "j" sound on Wednesday. The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day. If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word. Some ideas for the "j" sound include: jacket, jug, jeep, jaguar and jar.Number of the Week:

MYSTERY BAG (SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY):
I am sending home a letter explaining our new show and tell activity that will begin this week. Every week 2 children will take home our mystery bag and fill it with a special item to present to the class. The presentations will always be on FRIDAYS.
* This week: Mary Lou and Memphis will present their Mystery bags on Friday, January 15th, 2016.
OVERNIGHT BUDDY:
I am sending home a letter to explain our overnight buddy activity. Each night a different child in the class will take home our class buddy Olivia the Owl and complete a page in her journal adventure book. Please return the overnight buddy and journal book in the ziploc bag it was sent home in the next day.
SCHOLASTICS:
I am sending home the flyers for the month of January today. Please note that the deadline to submit your order is Friday, January 22nd, 2016.
JANUARY FAMILY PROJECT:
* Reminder: I have posted the new family project.
The blue and purple duo-tangs will be sent home every Monday and must be returned the following Monday. Throughout the week, please review the sound of the week and have your child complete the corresponding pages in the purple duo-tang. Please have your child practice singing the weekly songs/poems and complete the activity at the bottom of the page (if there is one) in the blue duo-tang. Please refer to the introduction letter for a more detailed explanation of this on the 2nd page in the blue and purple duo-tangs.
