* This Friday, October 30th, 2015, we will be feeding the Sound Monster. Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "l" sound on Wednesday. The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day. If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word. Some ideas for the "l" sound include: leaf, ladder, lollipop and letter.Number of the Week:

CHANGE OF CLOTHES FOR YOUR CHILD:
If you have not already done so, please send in a complete set of extra clothes to be kept at school for their child. This includes:
With the colder weather, please be sure to send your child to school with a hat, scarf/neck warmer, and gloves/mitts. It might be a good idea to begin sending your child to school with boots as well since the children are outside for at least 15 minutes at recess and at least 30 minutes at lunch time. Thank you :)
Please continue to have your child practice writing his/her name EVERY DAY.
REMINDER:
The blue and purple duo-tangs will be sent home every Monday and must be returned the following Monday. Throughout the week, please review the sound of the week and have your child complete the corresponding pages in the purple duo-tang. Please have your child practice singing the weekly songs/poems and complete the activity at the bottom of the page (if there is one) in the blue duo-tang. Please refer to the introduction letter for a more detailed explanation of this on the 2nd page in the blue and purple duo-tangs.
HALLOWEEN CELEBRATION:
On Friday, October 30th, 2015, we will celebrate Halloween in my class. We will do some special Halloween activities. I encourage you to send your child to school with a costume if you'd like. Here are some important points to remember for this day:

- a pair of pants
- underwear
- socks

- no masks
- no weapons (even plastic)
- My student teacher, Ms. Stef, does face painting for children's birthday parties and would like to surprise the children by painting their faces that day. Please inform me in writing if you would not like her to paint your child's face. Please note that the paint is hypoallergenic and will wash off easily with soap and water at bath time as it is not real paint.
- treats for the class: if you would like to send in treats for the class please be sure to send one for all of the children so no child feels left out. There are 13 children in the class. Please note there is NO OBLIGATION to send in candy or a treat.
Tuesday, October 27th, 2015: October family project due
Wednesday October 28th, 2015: STRIKE DAY- no school today and no school daycare service
Friday, October 30th, 2015: Halloween celebration in our classroom
