Sound Monster:

This Friday, October 2nd, 2015, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "f" sound on Friday.  The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day. Many of the children feel left out when they do not have an item to feed the Sound Monster on Fridays.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word.  Some ideas for the "f" sound include: fish, fire, four (4), flower and finger.

Number of the Week:

Important Information:

We have many fun activities planned related to apples in the coming weeks. I am asking all children to bring 3 apples to school this week.  Please send in a red apple (a Red Delicious or McIntosh), a yellow apple (Golden Delicious) and a green apple (Granny Smith). Please send the apples to school as soon as possible.  We will use the apples to make apple sauce and for a taste test as well as some Science and Math lessons.

Should your child wish to share a book, toy or object related to our theme with this class, he/she is welcome to bring it to school to add to our theme table.

Please continue to have your child practice writing his/her name EVERY DAY.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASS:

My class and the other Kindergarten class will be sharing the time available in the gym.  We will be alternating days.  Since we had Phys. Ed. on WEDNESDAY at 8:10 AM last week, we will have Phys. Ed. MONDAY this week again at 8:10 AM.  Unfortunately I was ill and not at school last Friday to send home a note to inform you of this.  In the future on Gym days (Monday and Wednesday alternating every week), please send your child to school with comfortable clothes (no skirts or dresses) and running shoes (if his/her indoor shoes are not running shoes). Thank you for your cooperation!

REMINDER:

The blue and purple duo-tangs will be sent home every Monday and must be returned the following Monday.  Throughout the week, please review the sound of the week and have your child complete the corresponding pages in the purple duo-tang.  Please have your child practice singing the weekly songs/poems and complete the activity at the bottom of the page (if there is one) in the blue duo-tang. Please refer to the introduction letter for a more detailed explanation of this on the 2nd page in the blue and purple duo-tangs.
