Important Information:

It is hard to believe that we are in the last week of school! We have had a terrific year together in Kindergarten! Thank you very much to all of you for your wonderful collaboration and support throughout the year to ensure that your little ones had a great first year of school here at Good Shepherd School.

PIZZA PARTY LUNCH: last day of school, Wednesday, June 22, 2021

A very BIG thank you to Lina's family who will be providing a FREE pizza party lunch to the two K5 classes on the last day of school. Lina's mom (Nancy) will be preparing the pizzas at her restaurant and delivering them to the school for a special treat! Every child will have 1 extra large piece of cheese pizza so please send in a drink and snacks as you usually would.

CLASS WEBSITE AND PICTURES OF THE CHILDREN:

Please be sure to visit the Photos tab next week as I will update it with this week's pictures. Also, please SAVE any pictures of your children that you'd like. During the summer, I will delete all of the photos from my google account in oder to make room for next year's class pictures.

*** SUPPLIES:  I will continue to send home the children's supplies this week.  Please be sure to EMPTY YOUR CHILD'S BACKPACK EVERY NIGHT Thank you :)

REPORT CARDS:

The term 2 report cards will be available on Mozaik Portail on June 30, 2021.  Please note that the legend for the grades is DIFFERENT for term 2 than it was for term 1.  An "A" no longer means "The student is making very good progress",  BUT NOW MEANS "The student exceeds the program expectations". Please refer to the explanation at the top of the report card.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES BEING SENT HOME: 

I will begin sending home the duo-tangs and supplies this week, so there is not too much to take home on the last day of school. Please be sure to EMPTY your child's backpack every night.  

Also, I am asking families to send in a large RE-USABLE bag (like you would use at the grocery store) so I can send home the scrapbook portfolios. Please label your bag with your child's name. The scrapbooks are too big to fit in the backpacks.

KINDERGARTEN CELEBRATION: FRIDAY,  JUNE 18TH, 2021 AT 10:30 AM 

I will be sending home a letter in the agenda folder on Monday.  Please complete the bottom section and return it to school ASAP.  We are asking the children to dress up for the celebration.  I look forward to seeing you (in person!) on Friday. :)

ON-LINE LEARNING DAY: Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 AFTERNOON ONLY (12:45 to 1:30 PM)

Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 from 12:45 to 1:30 PM is an online learning day due to a strike by the professional staff. I will be sending home the work the students will complete.  I will send the ZOOM link by email on Tuesday. 

HOMEWORK:

Please keep the Alphabet Letter Sounds yellow homework duo-tang at home.  Please refer to the first page in the yellow duo-tang for a detailed explanation of the homework. 

The blue songs and poems duo-tang will be sent home every Monday and must be returned the following Monday. Throughout the week, please have your child practice singing the weekly songs/poems and complete the activity at the bottom of the page (if there is one) in the blue duo-tang. Please refer to the introduction letter for a more detailed explanation.
