Number of the Week:

In December, we made a class book titled: "Kindergarten, Kindergarten, Who do you see?". I will continue sending it home with a different child each night. Please feel free to write your child a short message at the back of the book (on the yellow pages). Some ideas include: Great job _____! I love your picture _______! etc. We will place the book in the class library for the children to read. Thank you for your cooperation .:)

POSSIBILITY OF LEAD IN THE WATER AT SCHOOL:
The Ministry of Education is testing all of the pipes of Riverside School Board's buildings (as well as all other schools in Quebec), to make sure there is no lead in the drinking water from the pipes. As a precaution the children are asked to run the water for a minute before drinking from the water fountain. As you can imagine, this is quite difficult in Kindergarten! Since we have a water fountain in our classroom, the children are used to taking a sip anytime they'd like. I would like to ask all children to BRING IN A WATER BOTTLE FROM HOME (FILLED WITH WATER) until further notice. Many children already do so, but I have covered the class water fountain with a garbage bag for the time being so it is no longer used. Please rest assured the water should be safe to drink, but as it is impossible for me to stand at the water fountain and let it run for a minute every time a child is thirsty, having a water bottle from home will be the easiest solution. Thank you for your support.
MYSTERY BAG (SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY):
* This week: Zain, Milana and Emma will present their Mystery bags on Friday, January 31st, 2020.
OVERNIGHT BUDDY:
Each night a different child in the class will take home our class buddy Olivia the Owl and complete a page in her journal adventure book. Please return the overnight buddy and journal book in the ziploc bag it was sent home in the next day.
THEME TABLE:
We are continuing our winter theme this week. I invite the children to bring in books, toys or objects related to our theme that we can place on our theme table in the class. Please be sure to write your child' s name on the item or book so that I can easily return it to you. Thank you in advance!
* I have posted the new family project for the month of January.
* I have posted new pictures of the children in the Photos tab.
