Sound of the week:
* XSound Monster:
* This Friday, May 3rd, 2019, we will be feeding the Sound Monster. Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "x" sound on Wednesday. The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day. If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word. It may be difficult to find objects with the "x" sound, so any object with an "x" in it will be fine. Some ideas for the "x" sound include: xylophone, x-ray and box.Number of the Week:

MYSTERY BAG (SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY):
* This week: Leryk, Damion and Evan will present their Mystery bags on Friday, May 3rd, 2019.
OVERNIGHT BUDDY:
Our two class buddies will continue to circulate. Each night a different child in the class will take home our class buddy Freddie the Frog and complete a page in his journal adventure book. Please return the overnight buddy and journal book in the ziploc bag it was sent home in the next day. We will continue to send home Olivia the Owl as well.
LITERACY AND NUMERACY WORKSHOP FOR PARENTS OF KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS:
Thank you to those who have already returned the RSVP slip for this workshop. If you have not already done so and are able to attend, please return the confirmation slip (even though the deadline has passed, we are still accepting parents as the session is not full yet). Lots of free materials will be given to those who attend :) Last year, this workshop was a tremendous success. I will be present at the workshop again this year.
BOOK SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY:
As part of Reading Month, I would like the children to do a special Book Show and Tell Activity. On Monday, I will send home a letter explaining this activity in detail (in your child's communication folder). Your child will need to select his/her favourite book from home to present to the class.
