This week in Kindergarten April 1st-5th 2019

Sound of the week:

Sound Monster: 

This Friday, April 5th, 2019, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "n" sound on Wednesday.  The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word.  Some ideas for the "n" sound include: Some ideas for the "n" sound include: nickle, nail, note, ninja and napkin.

THEME TABLE:

Our new theme for the next few weeks will be Easter and rabbits.   I invite the children to bring in books, toys or objects related to our theme that we can place on our theme table in the class. Please be sure to write your child' s name on the item or book so that I can easily return it to you. Thank you in advance!

SCHOLASTICS:

I will be sending home the APRIL flyers for Scholastics this week.  Please note that the deadline to submit your Friday, April 12th, 2019.

MYSTERY BAG (SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY):

 * This week: Kiana, Samuel and Tucker will present their Mystery bags on Friday, April 5th, 2019.

OVERNIGHT BUDDY:

We will continue our overnight buddy activity this week. Each night a different child in the class will take home our class buddy Olivia the Owl and complete a page in her journal adventure book. Please return the overnight buddy and journal book in the ziploc bag it was sent home in the next day.  Very soon I will send home our second overnight buddy Freddie the Frog to visit the children's homes.

This week in Kindergarten March 25-29 2019

Sound Monster: 

This Friday, March 29th, 2019, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "g" sound on Wednesday.  The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word.  Some ideas for the "g" sound include: Some ideas for the "g" sound include: goat, green, grape, girl and glove.

MULTICULTURAL FAIR:

Good Shepherd School will be hosting a multicultural fair at the end of the month (on Wednesday, March 27th, 2019).  My class has randomly selected to learn more about EGYPT!  A big thank you to Mrs. Forde who brought in some AUTHENTIC PAPYRUS PAPER FROM EGYPT for our theme table.  A big thank you to Mrs. Dana as well who brought in some figurines of some Ancient Egyptian Gods. 

If anyone has any books, or items that they would like to share with the class relating to Egypt that would be great as I do not have much material! THANK YOU!

This Friday, March 15th, 2019, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "d" sound on Wednesday.  The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word.  Some ideas for the "d" sound include: dog, dice, donut, diamond, duck and dollar.
