This week in Kindergarten March 26th- March 30th

Sound of the week:

Sound Monster: 

This Wednesday, March 28th, 2018, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "e" sound on Wednesday.  The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word.  Some ideas for the "e" sound include: elephant, egg and envelope.

MULTICULTURAL FAIR:

Good Shepherd School will be hosting a multicultural fair at the end of the month (on Tuesday, March 27th, 2018).  My class has randomly selected to learn more about GREECE!  

REMINDER:

Due to the logistics of organizing the Multicultural fair, we have decorated Ms. Charlotte's resource room class door and NOT my class door.  Her room is located directly next to the office.

MYSTERY BAG (SHOW AND TELL ACTIVITY):

 * This week: Leandros and Shanna will present their Mystery bags on Wednesday, March 28th, 2018.

OVERNIGHT BUDDY:

We will continue our overnight buddy activity this week. Each night a different child in the class will take home our class buddy Olivia the Owl and complete a page in her journal adventure book. Please return the overnight buddy and journal book in the ziploc bag it was sent home in the next day.

THEME TABLE:

We are beginning our new Easter and Bunnies theme this week. I invite the children to bring in books, toys or objects related to our theme that we can place on our theme table in the class. Please be sure to write your child' s name on the item or book so that I can easily return it to you. Thank you in advance!

Sound Monster: 

This Friday, March 23rd, 2018, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "n" sound on Wednesday.  The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word.  Some ideas for the "n" sound include: nickle, note, nine, nail, ninja and napkin.

* I have posted the new family project for the month of March. (The shamrock pattern and activity sheet to complete were sent home before March break.)

We will be decorating our classroom door with some of the information we are learning about Greece.  I know we have a few Greek families in the class. :) I may call on you to assist me in teaching the children an easy Greek song or in sharing some family recipes. Stay tuned!
