Sound Monster: 

This Friday, December 4th, 2015, we will be feeding the Sound Monster.  Please send in 1 item (a toy, a book, a picture, etc. ) that begins with the "m" sound on Wednesday.  The item will be returned to your child at the end of the day.  If you cannot find an item, you can have your child draw a picture and write the corresponding word.  Some ideas for the "m" sound include: mitten,

TEDDY BEAR VISIT:

This FRIDAY, December 4th, 2015, I am asking all the children to bring in a teddy bear for our Teddy Bear visit.  All of the teddy bears will be returned home on Friday for the weekend.  Thank you for your usual cooperation. :)

THEME TABLE:

We will continue our bear theme this week.  I invite the children to bring in books, toys or objects related to our theme that we can place on our theme table in the class.  Please be sure to write your child' s name on the item or book so that I can easily return it to you.  Thank you in advance!

SCHOLASTICS:

The deadline for the December order is tomorrow, Tuesday, December 1st, 2015.  Books can make great holiday gifts.  Please note that I can send home your child's order in a sealed envelope if you'd like to keep it a surprise.

REMINDER:

The blue and purple duo-tangs will be sent home every Monday and must be returned the following Monday.  Throughout the week, please review the sound of the week and have your child complete the corresponding pages in the purple duo-tang.  Please have your child practice singing the weekly songs/poems and complete the activity at the bottom of the page (if there is one) in the blue duo-tang. Please refer to the introduction letter for a more detailed explanation of this on the 2nd page in the blue and purple duo-tangs.

REPORT CARDS:

Please note that you can KEEP the report card that was sent home last week. We have a copy at school.  However, if you have not already done so, the information sheet and ziplock bag should be returned to school so that it can be sent home again with the second term report card.  Thank you for your cooperation.

PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS: 

Thank you all for coming to our parent teacher interviews last Thursday and Friday.  It was great to meet with you and discuss the super progress your little munchkins have made so far in Kindergarten!

PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS: 

Last week I sent home the paper for parent-teacher interviews.  Please return the paper (if you have not already done so) tomorrow so that I can begin to make the schedule for the interviews.  Parent-teacher interviews will take place on Thursday, November 19th, 2015 in the evening and on Friday, November 20th, 2015 in the morning.  Thank you for your cooperation. :)

LAST DAY FOR MY STUDENT TEACHER MS. STEF: 

On Wednesday we will say goodbye to Ms. Stef who has completed her kindergarten internship in my class.  We have enjoyed having her with us these past two months and wish her great success as she embarks on her teaching career.  We will miss you Ms. Stef!

CHANGE OF CLOTHES FOR YOUR CHILD: 

If you have not already done so, please send in a complete set of extra clothes to be kept at school for their child.  This includes:
  • a long sleeve shirt
  • a pair of pants
  • underwear
  • socks
COLD WEATHER:

With the colder weather, please be sure to send your child to school with a hat, scarf/neck warmer, and gloves/mitts.  It might be a good idea to begin sending your child to school with boots as well since the children are outside for at least 15 minutes at recess and at least 30 minutes at lunch time. Thank you :)

Please continue to have your child practice writing his/her name EVERY DAY.
